About
The Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) course trains students to draw blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture to aid doctors in diagnosing and treating patient health issues. This course is fast paced with institutionally organized, hands-on clinical training that can lead to a lifelong career as a phlebotomist. It can also serve as a springboard into other healthcare-related occupations such as Medical Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse.
The academic portion is seven weeks, with an additional lab portion of 40 successful venipunctures. If you are considering pursuing a career in phlebotomy, we strongly encourage you to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). The National Healthcare Association (NHA) CPT Exam, NHA online study guide and CPT practice tests are included in the tuition costs.
