Activities and Organizations

SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA is a national workforce development organization that helps students build the skills they need for success in school, work and life. It empowers students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members through leadership development, teamwork, service, and real-world learning connected to career and technical education.

SkillsUSA Tennessee Postsecondary brings those opportunities to students across the state through local chapters, statewide events and hands-on experiences. Students can grow as leaders, take part in competitions, attend conferences, serve their communities and strengthen the personal and workplace skills employers value. For TCAT Athens students, SkillsUSA can be a strong way to build confidence, connect classroom learning to career goals and prepare for success after graduation.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the premier voice for the student body. Through SGA, students are able to get opinions heard, changes made, and ideas implemented to help make a difference on campus.

At SGA, students are the first priority and members constantly work to improve campus life and make the college a great place for students. Members also help implement activities at the school and keep classmates informed of calendar events, organizations, and competitions to help encourage and maintain campus enthusiasm.
